Das Jahr neigt sich zu Ende und ich habe für mich ein wenig Zeit gefunden, das Jahr Revue passieren zu lassen. Es war ein ereignisreiches Jahr mit vielen tollen Fotomöglichkeiten und mein Anspruch, jede Woche ein aktuelles Foto hier zu veröffentlichen hat sich bis auf wenige Wochen, die krankheitsbedingt keine grosse Möglichkeiten boten, gut erfüllt.

Auch meine kleine Kolumne „Wie man einen Fotografen nervt“ hat mir viel positives Feedback eingebracht und ich freue mich sehr über die Entwicklung meiner Webseite.

Hier ein paar Zahlen und Fakten:

Bis jetzt wurde meine Webseite dieses Jahr über 6.000 Mal aufgerufen, von knapp 1.100 Besuchern aus 44 Ländern.

Ich habe spannende Reisen unternommen, sowohl beruflich, als auch privat. Meine fotografischen highlights waren natürlich die unterschiedlichen Städte in Indien, Neu Dehli zum Holi Festival, Hyderabad, Mumbai und Chennai. Besonders spannend war sicherlich der Besuch in Chennai, bei welchem mich ein Freund begleitet hat. Wir hatten keinen Guide, sondern haben uns alles selbst erschlossen, und wir kamen mit großartigen Fotos und tollen Erinnerungen zurück.

Privat war ich das erste Mal in Norwegen, wo ich die unglaublich tolle Natur erkunden konnte. Fotografisch betrachtet lag der Fokus natürlich auf der Landschaftsfotografie, was ein ganz anderes Sehen erfordert, als wenn man Menschen fotografiert. Aber auch hier sind mir Bilder gelungen, die ich sehr gerne mag und die mich an dieses tolles Land erinnern.

Ich war seit langem mal wieder in Kenya und habe zwei tolle Safari-Tage erlebt. Es ist immer spannend, ob man am Ende tolle Bilder gemacht hat, wenn man in der Wildtierfotografie unterwegs ist, aber auch da war ich mehr als zufrieden mit den Erlebnissen und den Fotos.

Zudem habe ich probiert, zusätzlich zu meinen Portraits auch etwas mehr dokumentarische Portraits aufzunehmen, also mit mehr Umgebung, mit mehr Geschichte die Person. Das ist sicherlich noch etwas, wo ich weiter daran arbeiten will.

Ansonsten habe ich 2x bei Fotowettbewerben des Swiss Photo Clubs teilgenommen. Im März habe ich den 3. Platz im Publikums-Voting gewonnen, im November den 5. Platz.

Also Zeit für mich, „Danke“ zu sagen für die Unterstützung, die ich erfahren durfte, für die tollen Projekte, die ich mit begleiten durfte, zum Beispiel für ein Kosmetik Studio, einen Friseursalon oder auch Baby-Fotos und Haustier-Shootings. Ich freue mich auf das neue Jahr, das hoffentlich genauso ereignisreich und spannend sein wird.

The year is almost through, and I’ve found some time to reflect. It was an eventful year with many great photo opportunities, and my goal of posting a new photo here every week was largely fulfilled, except for a few weeks when sickness limited my options to shoot.

My little column “How to annoy a photographer” also received a lot of positive feedback, and I am very pleased with the development of my website.

Here are some facts and figures:

So far, my website has been clicked more than 6,000 times by almost 1,100 visitors from 44 countries.

I’ve done some exciting trips, both for work and leisure. My photographic highlights were, of course, the various cities in India: New Delhi for the Holi Festival, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai. The visit to Chennai, which I was attended by a friend, was quite exciting. We didn’t have a guide; we explored everything on our own, and we returned with fantastic photos and wonderful memories.

For vacation I spent my first time in Norway, where I was able to explore its incredibly beautiful nature. From a photographic perspective, the focus was naturally on landscape photography, which requires a completely different way of seeing than when photographing people. But even here, I managed to take some pictures that I really like and that remind me of this wonderful country.

I was in Kenya again after a long time and had two fantastic days doing safaris. It’s always exciting to see if you’ve taken great pictures when you’re out photographing wildlife, but I was more than satisfied with the experience and the photos.

In addition, I’ve tried to take more documentary-style portraits beside my portraits, including more of the surroundings and the person’s story. That’s definitely something I want to continue working on.

Otherwise, I have participated twice in photo competitions organized by the Swiss Photo Club. In March, I have won 3rd place in the public vote, and in November, I came in 5th place.

So, it’s time for me to say “thank you” for the support I’ve received, for the wonderful projects I’ve been a part of, such as for a beauty studio, a hair salon, or even baby and pet photoshoots. I’m looking forward to the new year, which I hope will be just as eventful and exciting.
