Das Foto der Woche entstand in Lissabon, Portugal. Für mich ist Lissabon eine der schönsten Städte in Europa. An jeder Ecke gibt es was zu sehen und das Flair der schmalen Straßen, den kleinen Gassen und den alten Häusern ist wirklich wunderschön.

Da Lissabon vor allem in den warmen Monaten vollgepackt mit Touristen ist, gibt es natürlich die klassischen Cliche-Fotos. Ich denke, dies ist eines davon. Historische Tram, steile Straße, die Kathedrale von Lissabon – ein klassisches Touri-Foto. Aber warum habe ich das überhaupt gemacht?

Ich war mit meiner Monochrom-Kamera unterwegs. Viele Fotos wirken in schwarz/weiss komplett anders als in Farbe und ich wollte gerne ausprobieren, ob die Atmosphäre der Stadt in schwarz/weiss genauso gut übertragen wird. Ich für mich finde „jein“. Für mich transportieren die Farbbilder die ganze Stimmung der Stadt, vom Wasser über die Altstadt und den Fassaden der Häuser. Auf der anderen Seite gibt der Look der schwarz/weiss-Aufnahmen einen klassischen, eleganten Look.

Ich bin tatsächlich unentschlossen, ob ich zu meinem Urlaub in Lissabon & Porto Ende des Monats in Farbe oder in monochrom fotografieren will. Aber beide Kameras mitzunehmen ist mir zu aufwendig.

The Photo of the Week was taken in Lisbon, Portugal. To me, Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. There is something to see around every corner, and the atmosphere of the narrow streets, small alleys, and old houses is truly beautiful.

Since Lisbon is packed with tourists -especially during the warm months -there are, of course, the classic cliché photos. I think this is one of them. A historic tram, a steep street, Lisbon Cathedral—a classic tourist shot. But why did I take it ?

I was walking around with my monochrome camera. Many photos take on a completely different feel in black and white compared to color, and I wanted to see whether the city’s atmosphere would translate just as effectively in monochrome. Personally, my verdict is—well, sort of. To me, the color images convey the city’s entire mood—from the water to the Old Town and the building facades. On the other hand, the black-and-white shots possess a classic, elegant aesthetic.

I’m actually undecided whether I want to shoot in color or in monochrome during my trip to Lisbon and Porto at the end of the month. But taking both cameras with me would be too much to carry.
