Mein Foto der Woche entstand in Mumbai, Indien. Ich hatte die Möglichkeit, die Tänzer und Akteure des Festivals zu Ehren der Hochzeit von Lord Shiva zu treffen, während sie sich geschminkt und angezogen haben.

Gleichzeitig war dies das erste Mal, dass ich meine neue Kamera mit auf eine Reise mitgenommen habe. Zum Einsatz kam eine Leica Q2 monochrom – eine Kamera die ich mir schon lange gewünscht habe. Diese macht ausschließlich schwarz/weiss Fotos mit einer Festbrennweite von 28 mm. Ich war mir, das muss ich ehrlich zugeben, nicht sicher, ob es für diese Reise die richtige Kamera war, da die indischen Feste voller Farben sind. Und sicherlich gab es auch Momente, da hätte ich gerne in Farbe fotografiert, aber da habe ich dann einfach die Handykamera benutzt.

Von der Kamera selbst und den Ergebnissen bin ich begeistert und freue mich sehr über diese zweite Kamera.

My photo of the week was taken in Mumbai, India. I had the opportunity to meet the dancers and performers of the festival honoring Lord Shiva’s wedding while they were getting ready with make-up and dressing.

At the same time, this was the first time I had taken my new camera on a trip. I have used a Leica Q2 monochrome – a camera I had wanted for a long time. It takes exclusively black and white photos with a fixed 28mm lens. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if it was the right camera for this trip, since the Indian festivals are full of colors. And there were certainly moments when I would have liked to take color photos, but then I simply used my phone camera.

I am thrilled with the camera itself and the results, and I am very happy to have the Leica as a second camera.
